I am relatively new to the ceramic world, but one thing I have learnt well is that one will never know what colour (s) a piece is going to turn out once it comes out of the kiln (ceramic oven). You may have an idea when choosing a specific glaze, but it doesn't mean much. Every time before I collect previously fired pieces, I get butterflies in my stomach with excitement to see what I'll be getting.
This series was meant to be white as I used a glaze called mother of pearl, but instead of just one tone, the result was these two organic, natural accents. I wasn't expecting, but was pleasantly surprised.
